Service fees are grouped into the following four categories:

• Order Fees
• Package Service Fees
• Shipping Fees
• Storage Fees

About Order Fees

There are three types of Order fees at Japan Rabbit:

• Service Fee - a sliding fee based on order value.
• Per-item Fee - varies by shop. See chart below.
• Minimum Fee - 5,00 US$.

How it works

Service fees for a single-item order valued at 100,00 US$ would be 10,30 US$.

Breakdown

• A Service Fee of 9,30 US$ calculated as 7,92 US$ for the first 80,00 US$ (9.9% of 80,00 US$) plus 1,38 US$ for the next 20,00 US$ (6.9% of 20,00 US$).
• A Per-item Fee of 1,00 US$.

Why sliding fees?

Our sliding fees are designed so that the more you spend per order the lower your effective % service fee.

Per Item Fee

Our per item fee is 1,00 US$ for most shops with the following exceptions for marketplace and auction sites.

Minimum Fee

If the total service fees are less than 5,00 US$, we'll charge 5,00 US$.

Bidding Fee and Auction Deposit

If you win the auction, we charge a flat bidding fee of 1,25 US$ per item.

If you lose the auction, we charge a bidding fee of 2 % of your bid per item, with a 1,50 US$ minimum and a 5,00 US$ maximum.

For bids of $1,000.00 or more, we also collect a deposit of $100.00. If you win the auction, we collect the remaining amount. If you lose the auction, we return the deposit to your Japan Rabbit wallet.

In-store Pickup Fee

We can handle in-store pickup from locations in metropolitan Tokyo and Yokohama.

Priority Purchasing

We'll purchase your order items ahead of non-priority orders. Fee: $6.50.

About Package Service Fees

Once your package arrives, the following optional services are available:

• Consolidation Fee: Consolidating two or more packages from the same order costs nothing.
• Consolidating multiple packages into a single shipment can save big bucks on shipping fees. We charge 2,50 US$ per package up to a maximum of 12,50 US$. Consolidating any number of packages greater than 5 will only cost 12,50 US$.
• Photo Request Fee: We can provide photos of your items for 5,00 US$.
• Split Package Fee: Need us to split the items in a package to ship separately? We charge 10,00 US$ for each new package created.
• Priority Processing: We will process your service request (one of the above services or prepare-to-ship below, NOT actual shipping) above other non-priority requests. We charge 5,00 US$ for each expedited request.

Shipping Fees

Shipping fees are determined by the shipping method, destination, and the size and weight of the package.

Shipping Add-ons

The following add-on services are available during shipping checkout.

Oversize and overweight items

We may charge special handling fees for packages which are very large, heavy, or of an unusual size. Examples include bicycles, snowboards, car bumpers and tires, and fishing rods.

Storage Fees

45-days Free Storage. You get 45-days free storage for each package, starting from the moment it arrives at our warehouse.

If you haven't shipped your package within 45 days, storage fees will accrue for your package according to the package volume. See chart below.
